Washington, 1 oct (.).- La directora gerente del Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI), Christine Lagarde, advirtió hoy de que la deuda global ha alcanzado un nuevo récord, situándose en los 182 billones de dólares (157 billones de euros).

«La deuda global -ambas, la pública y la privada- ha alcanzado un récord histórico de 182 billones de dólares, casi un 60 % por encima de la registrada en 2007», apuntó Lagarde, en un discurso en la sede del FMI, en Washington.

El Fondo proyectó en julio un crecimiento global del 3,9 % para 2018 y 2019, aunque Lagarde adelantó hoy que los próximos pronósticos, que se darán a conocer en Bali (Indonesia) del 8 al 14 de octubre en la Asamblea anual del Fondo y del Banco Mundial (BM), serán «menos brillantes».
